Rich spend £8.5bn on home help – mirror.co.uk
Here’s a quick statistical article about levels of Household Help in the UK. It looks like our business will be a “staple” for wealthy families for years to come…
Britain’s wealthiest families shelled out £8.5billion on domestic help last year, a study has found.
Just over half of top earners have a cleaner, while a third employ nannies to look after their kids.
Personal trainers, gardeners and even dog walkers were also widely used, the survey of 268 families earning at least £100,000 found around 50% admit they never cook, clean or do their own washing, with 6% judged to be completely dependent on hired help.
The poll for More Than Insurance found these families spend an average of £148 on outside help each week.
More Than spokesman Pete Markey said: “It’s obvious many high-earners wouldn’t be able to manage their lives without hired help.”
